💡Quick facts about Germany:
🧚 Fairy Tale Land: Germany is the birthplace of many famous fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm, such as "Snow White," "Cinderella," and "Hansel and Gretel."
🥨Pretzel Magic: Pretzels, a popular snack around the world, originated in Germany. There are two stories where pretzels originated: One story tells they were invented by monks in the 7th century as a reward for children who learned their prayers. The other story is that a corrupt baker tried to save money, by using chalk in his recipes. When the King found out he threw him in jail and the only way he could come out, is if he managed to create a baked good where you can see the sky through three times. The baker tried for many days and when he was just about to give up he had a rope of dough in his hand and in frustration threw it on the ground and a pretzel was shaped and hence saved his life.
🏰Castles Galore: Germany is known for its fairy tale-like castles. One of the most famous is Neuschwanstein Castle, which inspired the castle in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty." You can even sleep in castles! Many castles have been turned into youth hostels!
🚘Car Lovers' Haven: Germany is home to some of the world's most famous automobile manufacturers, including Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. Many kids dream of driving these sleek cars one day! Germans are very proud of their cars!
🎡Oktoberfest Celebration: Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and funfair) held annually in Munich, Germany. It features traditional Bavarian food, music, carnival games, and rides. Funny enough it is not celebrated in October but September.
🧸Gummi Bears: Gummi bears, those tasty chewy candies, were invented in Germany by Hans Riegel. They quickly became popular worldwide and are still enjoyed by kids and adults alike.
🎄Christmas Markets: Germany is famous for its enchanting Christmas markets, where you can find beautiful decorations, delicious treats, and festive entertainment during the holiday season.
⚽️Soccer Madness: Germans are passionate about soccer (or football, as they call it). They have a strong national team and a rich soccer history, with many successful players and teams. On days when there are big soccer games, you can hear people yelling at their TV's in their houses, and apartments when you are walking on the street, it is quite funny.
♻️Recycling Champions: Germany is a leader in recycling. They have a well-established recycling system, and kids in Germany learn early on about the importance of protecting the environment and recycling. Every Saturday many families bring their recycling to the recycling center- it is sort of a family tradition.

🇩🇪RECIPES🇩🇪
🥔German potato salad is made differently in every part of Germany some make their potato salad with mayonnaise, some make the potato salad with vinegar.
My grandmother always made her potato salad with mayonnaise, so that is how I grew up and that is how I like it.
I'm sharing our families recipe with you, if you would like to you could cut in one or two boiled eggs into this potato salad but I personally prefer not to. It will not change the taste dramatically and will add some more protein to your dish.
You can make a large container of this and it can sit in your refrigerator for the entire week.
Pair this with the German meatballs, or hot dogs, or pretzels, or bread rolls, or just by itself with a fried egg on top (yum), we consider potatoes to be a superfood.
